MISSION:
The Comics On Duty World Tour provides the highest "network-caliber" comedy
program to the U.S. Armed Forces, while affording host installations and
Commands with the cost saving benefits of a joint force, multi-market, turn-key
promotion. Its versatile, compact format is designed to reach both large and small
audiences and can travel to the most remote locations.
Produced exclusively for the military community by Richard Davis, Executive
Producer of the Davis Entertainment Group (DEG), the Comics On Duty World Tour
features ONLY national headline comedians and provides each host installation with
all of the necessary tools to produce a successful event.
HISTORY:
Since our first performance in 1992, the Comics On Duty World Tour has performed
nearly 3600 shows worldwide, boosting the morale of hundreds of thousands of
military personnel. For example, to date the CODWT has performed over 240 shows
at more than 80 different sites inside of Iraq and over 300 performances overall, in
Southwest Asia supporting both Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom.
Within the Continental United States (CONUS), the affordability of the Comics On
Duty World Tour is achieved through a routing and group booking of joint force
installations. In addition to an unprecedented talent package, the CODWT CONUS
Tour provides advance and event-specific marketing support.
The Comics On Duty World Tour always travels as an compact performance
package, providing the flexibility to reach multiple audiences in all types of venues,
wherever personnel are deployed around the world. From a laugh'n lunch, dinner
theater, to club performance, to shows aboard ship or even on the front lines, the
Comics On Duty World Tour has the proven experience to provide the best comedy
for our Armed Forces.
SUPPORT:
First and foremost for host installations, the Comics On Duty World Tour brings a
remarkable comprehensive entertainment program, complete with stage backdrop,
CONUS sound & lights, and talent package consisting of ONLY national headline
comedians. To complete the show experience, Comics On Duty World Tour
comedians sign autographs, mingle with the audience and give out free Comics On
Duty World Tour patches or other memorabilia. In addition to the caliber of the
show, advanced pre-performance marketing support is provided to enhance the
success of your marketing efforts for each event. This support includes digital and
print versions of promotional materials -- logos, flyer's, posters and autograph cards.
DEG has the ability to produce and personalize these marketing items in-house,
offering a significant reduction in marketing costs.
TALENT:
The Comics On Duty World Tour Talent are selected based on a number of different
criteria. These elements, required and evaluated by the DEG, virtually guarantee a
well rounded and successful performance. Our comedians must exhibit a solid
stage presence, have the ability to perform a network caliber show and have
extensive industry experience, including national television credits on networks such
as A&E, MTV, Comedy Central, HBO, BET, Showtime; major club experience; and/or
movie or television writing experience. Shows generally present 4 to 5 headline
comedians performing 20 to 30 minute sets, which adds up to a great 90 minute+
performance. The show content or rating is designated by each host installation or
unit and can be suited to any audience. Our standard performance content is
consistent with a PG-13 rating system.
FLEXIBILITY:
ALL installations are offered a multi-show option, which provides the option for host
installations to reach and entertain different audiences in different venues. While the
multi-show option is contingent on logistic requirements, the CODWT will make
every effort to perform as many shows as possible to reach your audience. Over the
past 15 years, the Comics On Duty World Tour has performed in a multitude of
venues such as the O-Club, E-Club, NCO Club, Community Center, Gym, Cafeteria,
Theater, Outdoor Venues and tents, aboard ship and at remote locations in the field.

Comics On Duty World Tour continues our mission in support of personnel deployed
with both Operation Iraqi and Enduring Freedom.
